AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Guidelines:

  • After the initial installation, do not wash your hair for 24 hours.

  • Keep your attachment points clean, dry, brushed & separated.

  • Avoid excessive heat, conditioner, and oils on bonds/wefts/beads.

  • Comb out any tangles right away.

  • Keep up with your maintenance schedule.

Suggested Products:

  • Gentle Shampoo e.g sulfate free.

  • Conditioner for color treated hair.

  • Deep Conditioner - used 1-2 times a week

  • Loop Brush - available for purchase

Brushing:

Brush out any tangles, holding your hair in hand to avoid pulling from the root. Always starting at the bottom of the hair working towards the crown. Remember to brush the root area to prevent matting of the attachments while working in small sections. When you get to the root, separate the strands from each other with your fingers. It is normal to have some shredded hair stick to each other, pull them apart. Brush your hair in this manner at least twice a day.

Washing:

Wet hair with warm water, place shampoo in palm of hands & stroke the scalp. Never use circular or scrubbing motions as this will cause the hair to tangle. Wash your hair with your head tilted forward, not back. Your goal is to clean your scalp rather than your hair as your scalp produces oils which attract dirt. Use hands to squeeze excess water from the hair. Place conditioner in palm of hand and stroke downward, taking care not to put conditioner on the attachments. Starting at the mid-point is best. Comb the hair with your fingers or a very wide tooth comb to get rid of any tangles. Do not brush wet hair. Your attachments will not come out immediately if they get conditioner on them, but they will last longer if you avoid doing so. You do not need to put conditioner on the scalp, this is because the scalp produces oils naturally to lubricate the scalp.

Styling:

Rinse with cool water to look in moisture, seal the cuticles and create a nice shine. Pat your hair dry with a towel & squeeze. Do not rub - this will cause tangles. Add your leave in conditioner. Avoid placing products that contain oils, conditioners or lubricants directly on the scalp or attachment point. This will cause the bonds to gradually soften. Always dry the root area thoroughly to avoid attachment slippage or breakdown. Use medium to low heat when blow-drying. Avoid touching the bonds with a warm styling tool or heat. Never sleep with wet hair.

Sleeping:

Braid or tie your hair in a ponytail while you sleep. A satin pillow case or scarf will also help to avoid tangles.
